Taiwan is to launch a floating wind demonstration tender in the fourth quarter of 2022, with selection of developers of projects to take place in 2023.
The Energy Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs held a meeting earlier this month regarding the floating wind demonstration scheme to gather feedback from industry and stakeholders.

The tender process is for a total installation capacity of 100MW with a cap of 50MW on any single project.
Projects must be located beyond the low water tide line around Taiwan and any site selection will need to avoid sensitive areas of the sea and are subject to environmental impact assessment, the ministry said.
