RES has secured operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts for 385MW of solar capacity in the UK, belonging to Octopus Energy Generation.
RES has migrated 60 contracts to long-term agreements for renewable assets owned by Octopus Energy Generation.
This follows a period of successful delivery and collaboration with the renewables investor.
As part of the long-term contracts, RES will manage high voltage services in-house, in addition to providing an enhanced spare parts management service and standalone “specialist inverter defect rectification services” on several solar farms in the non-RES part of the Octopus portfolio.
RES now provides O&M services on nearly half of Octopus’ UK solar portfolio.
In addition, RES has rolled out a programme of cyber security upgrades and reliability engineering studies. RES is also supporting Octopus with its environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals around biodiversity in particular, including the facilitation around the delivery of a programme of biodiversity studies and subsequent biodiversity enhancements.
Brian Darnell, Head of Solar & Storage O&M for UK&I at RES, said: “We’ve been working with the Octopus team for a number of years now and we’re delighted that we are nearing completion of migration to long-term contracts, which is testament to the partnership we have built.
“Our expertise in O&M means we can confidently continue delivering safety and innovation in equal measure as we embed the 60 solar farms into our portfolio.
“We have built a relationship of trust and being appointed as O&M contractor on a significant proportion of the UK Octopus solar portfolio is something we are incredibly proud of.”
