GE Renewable Energy has won a contract to supply turbines to Saudi Arabian company Alfanar for a cluster of wind farms totalling 53MW in the Navarre region of Spain.
The deal is for the supply and installation of 15 GE 3.X-4.0MW machines with 137-metre rotors at the projects near Miranda de Arga and Berbinzana municipalities.
The contract also includes a 15-year full-service contract.
GE chief commercial officer of onshore wind international Gilan Sabatier said: “Spain continues to play a critical role in the renewable energy sector and, particularly, in onshore wind with the fifth largest installed base of wind capacity in the world.
“We are very pleased to strengthen our partnership with Alfanar and proud to contribute to Spain’s ambitious plan to transition to clean energy.”
