The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is to host two virtual meetings to discuss ongoing offshore wind energy planning activities in the state of Oregon.
The first meeting, which will take place on 25 February, is an Oregon Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Force webinar.
It will provide an update to task force members on activities relevant to offshore wind energy, and discuss areas for potential wind energy leasing off the coast of Oregon.
The task force is an intergovernmental group, with members including federal, state, local, tribal, and elected officials.
Members of the public are invited to listen, and there will be two opportunities for public questions and comments after the morning and afternoon sessions.
The second event will be on 4 March and is a meeting of the Pacific Fishery Management Council ad hoc Marine Planning Committee.
It will discuss the next steps in the authorisation process for commercial offshore wind energy leasing.
BOEM representatives will also provide an overview of potential leasing areas.
This meeting is open to all interested parties, especially members of the fishing community, that operate in the Oregon offshore wind planning area.
