TenneT has revealed damage to the jacket and cable deck of its HKZ Beta platform at the 1500MW offshore wind project after a cargo ship collided with it.
The company said that the jacket has been dented and the cable deck (bordes) damaged at one corner.
No-one was on the platform at the time.
It is one of two substations (Hollandse Kust Zuid Alpha and Beta) TenneT is building for the offshore grid connection of the wind farm in Dutch waters.
TenneT will now inspect the damage to the jacket, both above and underwater level.
The company expects to have a clear picture of the exact damage to the jacket by early March, so that it can make a plan for the necessary repairs.
Further investigation will determine the impact of this collision, TenneT added.
The cargo ship also collided with one of the foundations of the offshore wind project, Vattenfall reported last week.
The Swedish developer said the Julietta D became adrift on 31 January in an anchorage area north of the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm after suffering a hull breach after colliding with another vessel.
The ship took on water in the engine room, and it was decided to evacuate the entire 18-person crew by helicopter.
After the crew of the Julietta D had been safely evacuated, the vessel drifted rudderless through the wind farm site for several hours.
TenneT added that, during the design and construction of its jackets, scenarios are made for a ship of limited size to collide with the jacket.
