The Spanish government has started a consultation on a 1200MW floating offshore wind farm planned to be built by Bluefloat and Sener Renewable Investments 30km off the coast of A Coruna in north-west Spain.
The Nordes project would be built in two phases starting with an initial 525MW and adding 675MW later off the region of Galicia.

The first phase would comprise 35 turbines with individual capacity of about 15MW, while the second stage would consist of 45 machines.
Nordes would deliver 4800 gigawatt-hours of electricity a year when fully operational.
The consultation is open until 7 March.
