Enercon has transferred ownership of the 21MW Heringen-Waltersberg onshore wind farm in Germany to the Enercon Wind Onshore Deutschland investment fund.
The project, located in the Hesse region, was connected to the grid last autumn and features seven E-101/3.05 MW wind turbines built on hybrid towers at hub heights of 149 metres.
Enercon said that the transaction was successfully completed at the end of December for an undisclosed purchase price.
The company added that two large public law insurance companies acted as anchor investors.
This sale is the first investment product of the fund platform that was initiated for institutional investors by Enercon last year.
The platform’s objective is to advance the marketing of onshore wind projects in Germany and Europe and to offer customers access to institutional investors and capital providers when realising their project plans, Enercon said.
Enercon financial advisor Peter Koßmann said: “The sale of this showcase project is further proof of the great confidence investors have in our wind energy converter technology, and in Enercon as a manufacturer and project partner for realising onshore projects.”
Enercon said that the Onshore Deutschland investment fund already comprises 31 turbines in five operating wind farms in Germany, with a total nominal power of 79MW.
