Italian developer ERG has celebrated the New Year by confirming the start of commercial operations on a 70MW portfolio of UK onshore wind.
The company said the 46.8MW Evishagaran (pictured) and 23.5MW Craiggore projects, both in Derry in Northern Ireland, have started production.
Both sites are subsidy-free wind farms.
Evishagaran features 13 Vestas V112-3.6MW turbines while Enercon units are spinning at Craiggore.
ERG meanwhile also said it has commissioned the 7MW Vallée dell’Aa wind farm in Pas-de-Calais, in Upper France.
All three sites will have an overall production at full capacity of approximately 268GWh per year, making it possible to avoid the emission of 130,000 tons of CO2 every year, said ERG.
Chief executive Paolo Merli said: “Our organic growth path continues abroad with the entry into operation of 77MW of wind power between Northern Ireland and France, which will make their full contribution in 2022.
“France and United Kingdom are priority markets for the geographic diversification strategy with which the Group will consolidate its presence in Europe.”
