Switzerland-based energy company MET Group has completed the acquisition of a 100% stake in a 60MW wind park in Bulgaria from the Spanish Grupo Enhol.
The transaction is an important step in achieving MET’s renewables growth targets in the central and eastern European region, which aims for a 500MW portfolio to be in operation by 2023.
With this acquisition MET brings its wind power operating portfolio in Bulgaria to 102MW.
On 30 July 2021, MET Group signed a share purchase agreement with Grupo Enhol, a Spanish family-owned company focusing on renewable energy, to acquire its 60MW Suvorovo Wind Park in Western Bulgaria, on the coast of the Black Sea.
The transaction was completed on 15 December 2021.
Suvorovo Wind Park, representing 8.5% of the total installed wind capacity in Bulgaria, consists of 30 Gamesa G90 wind turbines of 2MW capacity each.
