Singapore-based Enterprize Energy signed an agreement to build a 4GW wind farm off the coast of Ireland to power a green hydrogen facility, according to a report in the Irish Times newspaper.
Under the plans, Enterprize Energy’s $10bn (€8.9bn) wind farm will supply electricity for hydrogen production and consumption in Ireland, or for conversion into ammonia that can be exported, chief executive Ian Hatton told the the paper.
Enterprize will raise money for the project through financing arranged by Societe Generale as well as from private equity investment, the paper reported that Hatton said.
The wind farm would generate renewable energy for the green hydrogen facility developed by E1-H2 and Zenith Energy, called Green Marlin, due to come on stream in 2026, the report added.
The energy companies have signed a precursor to a power purchase agreement, with EI-H2 off-taking the energy, according to the article.
Enterprize has signed deals with oil and gas development company Sapura Energy Berhad and foundation supplier, Offshore Design Engineering, which will supply the articulated wind columns for the project, the article stated.
