American Offshore Services (AOS) has secured its first contracts to provide crew transfer vessels (CTVs) and equipment for four US offshore wind projects.
The contracts begin in the second quarter of 2023 and AOS will support the projects during the construction phase.
AOS was founded in 2020 when SEA OG Offshore and Northern Offshore Services (NOS) entered a joint venture.
The company has also placed an order with Blount Boats to build four hybrid-ready crew transfer vessels (CTVs).
The Jones Act-compliant CTVs will be delivered in 2023 and 2024 and all four vessels will immediately go to work servicing US offshore wind farm projects.
“We are excited to build this next generation of CTVs for AOS,” said Marcia Blount, Blount Boat president.
“A hybrid-ready CTV is a fitting addition to the new and growing offshore wind industry in the United States, and we are proud to be a part of it in such a vital way.”
AOS’ new generation CTV G-class is 30 metres in length and is based NOS’ design.
