German certifier TUV SUD has completed certification of Vattenfall’s 605MW Danish Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm.
Certification was carried out in accordance with the Danish executive order BEK 73, TUV SUD said.
The company said it has supported the project since 2018.
Its contract covered certification of the design of the foundation structure as well as surveillance and certification throughout the manufacturing, transport, installation and commissioning phases.
Within the scope of certification, TUV SUD’s offshore wind energy experts examined the design of the turbines’ monopile foundations and connections to the towers by transition piece.
Design examination of the foundations started in summer 2018. The project certificate was handed over to Vattenfall in early September this year.
TUV SUD project manager Liana Tatar said: “TUV SUD supports the development of innovative and sustainable technologies.
“We are very pleased to have contributed to the implementation of this offshore project for generating clean energy.
“Certification confirms that Kriegers Flak wind farm is in compliance with Danish regulations and that the safety of the wind farm is ensured.”
