Vestas has received a 151MW turbine order from Pattern Energy for the Lanfine wind project farm in Alberta, Canada.
The order consists of 35 V150-4.2 MW turbines, delivered in 4.3MW operating mode plus a multi-year service agreement.
Turbine delivery begins in the second quarter of 2022 with commissioning scheduled for fourth quarter of 2022.
“Vestas is pleased to grow our partnership with Pattern Energy, one of Canada’s largest wind power operators, as it expands its portfolio with this new project in Alberta,” said Laura Beane, president of Vestas North America.
“By utilising the Vestas V150, a quiet and powerful turbine, we are able to reduce the footprint of the Lanfine Wind project while maintaining its output,” said Mike Garland, CEO of Pattern Energy.
“The addition of Lanfine Wind will further expand our Canadian presence, which is growing to a total of ten wind power facilities across five provinces.”
Vestas has also secured an order for two undisclosed wind projects in the US totalling 63MW.
The order consists of 15 V117-4.2 MW turbines, with eight turbines at one project and seven turbines at the other project.
For both projects, Vestas deliver supply and commissioning of the turbines, as well as service them for 20 years
Turbine deliveries for both projects is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2022 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.
