Enel Russia and the government of the Rostov region signed an agreement to cooperate on a wind project.
The head of Enel in Russia Stefan Svegintsov and the Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev signed the cooperation agreement in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov at the Innoprom-2021 International Industrial Exhibition,
The aim of the agreement is to implement an investment project to build a wind farm in the Rostov region.
Enel plans to build its second wind farm in the region, subject to the receipt of appropriate quotas on the results of competitive selections, which is planned to be held in 2021-2025 under the second programme of support for renewable energy (REE-2.0).
“Enel is constantly considering opportunities to expand its portfolio of renewable energy projects in Russia.
“It is important for us to see the same potential interest in the region in reducing the carbon footprint and developing new technologies for a sustainable economy.
“This year we introduced our first wind farm in Russia in the Rostov region, a region with rich natural potential, with the necessary infrastructure and open to interaction,” said Svegintsov.
Under the terms of the signed agreement, the government of the Rostov Region will assist in obtaining organisational, state and information support for the project implemented by the company, as well as consider its inclusion in the list of “100 Governor’s Investment Projects”.
Enel Russia’s first wind farm in Rostov is the 90MW Azov wind farm.
The wind farm is equipped with 26 turbines and is located in an area of 133 hectares on the coast of the Sea of Azov.
In addition to the Azov wind farm, Enel Russia is implementing two other wind generation projects: the Kola Wind Farm (201MW) in the Murmansk region and the Rodnikov wind farm (71MW) in the Stavropol region.
