BW Ideol is partnering with an unnamed utility to jointly bid in a 270MW floating offshore wind tender in France.
The company revealed the news in its first quarter 2021 results that it has formalised a partnership with the “leading utility” to bid in the tender for the project off the coast of Brittany.
The tender was launched on 29 April.
BW Ideol also said it has signed a €4m engineering contract and licence agreement for the 30MW EolMed project.
EolMed will comprise three Vestas V164-10MW turbines located in the Mediterrean Sea.
BW Ideol said that during the first quarter of the year the Floatgen demonstrator installed off western France, produced 2015 megawatt-hours of electricity and recorded 91.7% availability.
Floatgen’s total production has now reached 14.8 gigawatt-hours since installation in September 2018, the company said.
