Energiekontor has taken the wraps off early-stages plan for the 106MW Strath Oykel wind farm in the Scottish Highlands.
The German developer has requested a scoping opinion from the Scottish government on the proposed site, which would include 16 turbines with up to 250 metre tips.
Also mentioned in initial plans for the site are an on-site substation, cabling, an energy storage compound and other associated works.
Connecting the development to the grid would be subject to a separate design and consent process, which would be submitted to the local Distribution Network Operator.
Energiekontor estimates that the proposed development in Strath Oykel forest, near Doune, would take 12 months to construct, and says site restoration would be carried out as quickly as possible to minimise impacts on land use.
The proposed site is expected to be operational for 35 years, according to scoping documents.
A number of existing wind farms exist near the proposed Strath Oykel site, including a 19-turbine development at Rosehall to the north, and the 19-turbine Achany to the north-east.
Energiekontor will await a scoping opinion from authorities before making a full permit application.
