Chinese manufacturer MingYang Smart Energy has installed the first of 32 turbines at Guangdong Energy Group’s Zhanjiang Xinliao offshore wind farm off the cost of Guangdong province, China.
The over 206MW project, off Xuwen County, will feature MySE6.645-180 machines.
Once fully operational the wind farm will be capable of delivering electricity to over 240,000 households, MingYang said.
It added: “The safe and successful installation of the first MySE6.45-180 at the Zhanjiang Xinliao project is one of the most visible and distinctive milestones, underlining the MingYang team’s continuously effort to work with all parties involved to achieve this important milestone.
“After the project is put into operation, it will bring considerable economic and environmental benefits, providing a strong boost for Guangdong Province’s efforts to adjust and optimise its energy structure, as well as contributing to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s efforts to construct a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system.”
