Japanese solar infrastructure investor Ichigo has commenced operations of its first wind power plant.
The 7.4MWW wind farm, near Yonezawa city in the Yamagata prefecture, comprises four 1.8MW Hitachi turbines.
The Ichigo Yonezawa wind farm is the company’s 52nd clean power plant – the other 51 are all solar.
Ichigo’s pipeline of operational and in development clean power plants comprises 67 facilities and projects, totalling 199MW.
Ichigo Yonezawa’s construction was funded by the Shinsei Bank Green Loan programme, one of Shinsei Bank’s sustainable impact initiatives targeted specifically to finance projects with positive environmental benefits.
Shinsei Bank recognised Ichigo Yonezawa for its contributions to achieving two sustainable development goals (SDGs) for affordable and clean energy, and for industry, innovation and infrastructure.
