EEW Group has produced 123 pin piles for the Greater Changhua 1 & 2a offshore wind farms off Taiwan.
Production took place from December 2019 until end of January 2021 in South Korea at EEW KHPC.
During this production period high QHSE measures had to be met.
Special attention was paid to Covid-19 infection control and hygiene requirements.
Despite the exceptional circumstances all parties involved were able to complete the project on time with zero recordable incidents, the company said.
The last pin pile left the production site on 27 January 2021 to be shipped from the port of Gwangyang to the final construction destination in Taiwan in mid-February.
Overall, the total weight of the 123 pin piles was 38,000 tonnes, with a maximum single pile length of approximately 83 metres.
EEW Group chief executive Christoph Schorge said: “The development of renewable energy sources in the Asia-Pacific region is a role model for other countries.
“We are proud to be a part of Taiwan’s energy transition and we look forward to continuing with the successful business relationship with our partner Orsted.”
