Vattenfall has awarded ALL NRG a yearly maintenance framework agreement at Ramsgate Cluster in the UK.
Ramsgate Cluster comprises offshore wind farms, Thanet, Kentish Flats and Kentish Flats Extension, with a total of 145 Vestas V90 and V112 turbines.
The scope of work within the contract is the annual mechanical wind turbine servicing during the summer campaign, along with local onshore project management and HSE support.
Service work at the sites is scheduled to start early May, but the process of planning and sourcing technicians for the project has begun.
ALL NRG chief executive Michael Thatt said: “The contract is an important step in further developing our UK strategy.
“Since the opening of our UK office in 2016, we have slowly been expanding operations.
“Before Vattenfall’s agreement was under negotiation, we already decided to expand with more colleagues at our UK-base in Grimsby.
“Some are already onboarded, but we still have open positions to fill.
“Until now, we have mainly worked with Vattenfall on Danish sites.
“We look forward to expanding the good cooperation to sites in the UK.”
Vattenfall’s head of offshore operations for the UK Kevin Jones added:”Vattenfall has been in Ramsgate for ten years operating Thanet, Kentish Flats and Kentish Flats Extension wind farms, which employ around 70 people and generate enough electricity to power more than 400,000 homes each year.
“We understand the importance of creating jobs and establishing a local and UK supply chain if the UK wants to deploy 40GW of offshore wind by 2030.
“Contracts like this are a step towards building and sustaining a local and UK supply chain.”
