Chinese inverter manufacturer Sungrow has won contracts totalling 115MW to supply two of the UK’s biggest subsidy-free photovoltaic farms.
Bouygues Energies & Services is constructing the Strensham solar project, in Gloucestershire, and the Llanwern solar project, in south Wales, for Next Energy Capital.
Both solar farms will be connected to the grid in the first quarter of next year.
Sungrow will provide 23 units of SG3125HV-MV turnkey central inverters for the solar parks.
The 1500V turnkey central inverter solution includes an operations and maintenance service and is also equipped with anti-corrosion capability, suitable for coastal areas, where the Llanwern project is located just 1km from the sea.
Bouygues Energies & Services energy and engineering director Keith Pedder said: “Sungrow has demonstrated its focus on providing high-quality products and exemplary customer service in the UK market.”
Sungrow key account manager Jeremy Powell added: “We are very pleased to be working on these sizeable projects with Bouygues Energies & Services and Next Energy Capital.
“Our aim has always been to give the most sophisticated and simple solution to our customers. This shows the trust the UK market has in Sungrow and its products.”
