Sterling and Wilson Solar has secured two EPC contracts from an unnamed global independent power producer to build large-scale PV projects worth A$300m in Australia.
The works will start immediately on the projects, which will have an installed capacity of over 300MW.
The orders bring Sterling and Wilson’s order book up to A$1.2bn in Australia.
Sterling and Wilson director and global chief executive Bikesh Ogra said: “With the continent’s regulatory environment becoming more conducive towards renewable energy and the prevalence of high electricity tariff, the commercial viability of solar projects is improving.
“Our vision for the market is to maintain our leadership position in the EPC segment and contribute to the country’s mission of clean energy.”
Sterling and Wilson provides EPC and O&M services in 25 countries including India, South-East Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, Australia and the Middle East.
It now has more than 10.6GW of solar power projects commissioned or under various stages of construction.
