Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency has chosen Fraunhofer IWES to carry out surveys of a prospective offshore wind farm zones in the North Sea.
The geophysical site investigation of the N-6.6 and N-6.7 areas is part of the preliminary investigations of the sites, according to the tender document.

Work will kick off in the summer of this year.
The investigations include the measurement of approximately 1,100km using a sediment echo sounder as well as high-resolution single and multi-channel seismic work, the document said.
Fraunhofer IWES will also evaluate and document the data recorded and determine suitable locations for the subsequent geotechnical explorations.
