Dutch-German grid operator TenneT has completed the hiring of its new leadership team to steer the company through its next growth phase.
TenneT’s appointment of six associate directors from outside the company completes the 22-strong senior leadership team, which will become effective from 1 July 2020.
TenneT chief executive Manon van Beek (pictured) said: “The six senior leaders all gained extensive experience in international companies such as Siemens, Innogy and Eon.
“With the new integrated organisation we are well positioned to meet the major challenges of the European energy transition with confidence.”
The new team forms part of the grid operator’s ‘Transforming TenneT’ programme, which was implemented to “create a company culture that will support the company’s growth and its role in the energy transition in the Netherlands, Germany and neighbouring countries”.
As part of Transforming TenneT the company said it aims to build “closer cooperation” with other grid operators and stakeholders in grid development, system integration and innovation.
TenneT said it is “preparing to take a frontrunner role” in the European energy transition and is working in cooperation with the Dutch Government as well as the German Federal Government, primarily with both government’s economic affairs ministries.
Last year TenneT hired over a thousand employees in the Netherlands and Germany and expects to continue expanding headcount in 2020, despite the Covid-19 crisis.
The company estimates a growth of 6%-7.5% to “realise its goals, investment agenda and growth”.
Van Beek added: “On 1 July TenneT’s organisation will be solid as a rock, with a complete leadership team in top condition.
“We are happy that with this team we managed to find a good balance between German and Dutch colleagues, male and (more than 30%) female colleagues, as well as a diverse mindset from within TenneT as well as outside the company.”
