Van Oord has signed a preparatory works agreement for the installation of foundations at Ailes Marines’ 496MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm off France’s northern coast.
The Dutch marine contractor confirmed it will fit all 62 Navantia and Windar-built three-legged jackets at the 75 square-kilometre site in its 2019 annual report, published earlier today.
Van Oord said its role will be formally confirmed when the project’s Iberdrola-led development consortium makes a final investment decision on Saint-Brieuc later this year.
The deal was first reported in the subscriber-only reNEWS newsletter in March.
The Saint-Brieuc project is located 16km off the French coast and will feature 62 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines.
Offshore construction work is due to start in 2021 and the project is set to come online in 2023.
