An investigation is underway in the US after one person died and a second was injured while working on the 136MW Skookumchuck wind farm in Washington state.
Southern Power bought Skookumchuck last year from the project’s developer RES, which is continuing to build the wind farm for the owner.
“We have commenced a thorough investigation to understand what happened and its cause,” a RES spokesperson said.
The incident occurred on 9 January and the injured person was taken to a local hospital, RES said.
“We are deeply saddened by the death of the construction worker and extend our condolences to his family and we hope for a speedy recovery of our injured colleague,” the spokesperson added.
The project, which features Vestas hardware, is due online in the first quarter of this year.
