Sif has entered exclusive negotiations to supply 33 foundations for an unnamed offshore wind project in Japan.
The Dutch fabricator said the talks are for both monopiles and associated transition pieces totalling 25 kilotons of steel.

“The current state of negotiations has led to a pre-order of the steel for the project,” added the company.
Manufacturing and notification of the project are subject to a notice to proceed being issued by the client.
A final contract would bring Sif’s orderbook for 2020 to 175 Kton.
