Danish company Eurowind has acquired compatriot developer SE Blue Renewables.
The deal includes 222 operational wind turbines and the 26-unit Overgaard repowering project (pictured) in Randers municipality, which is currently in construction.
An undisclosed development pipeline is also part of the agreement.
Eurowind said its portfolio of operational wind projects is now 600MW and 400MW in construction or late development.
Employees from SE Blue Renewables, formed by PFA and SE (now known as Norlys) through the previous acquisition of the former Dong Danish onshore wind business, will also transfer to Eurowind.
“With the acquisition, we can benefit from the synergies that a short-term and long-term merger will enable for both the acquired company and Eurowind Energy, including optimising the construction process for wind park Overgaard and creating synergies with the existing portfolio,” Eurowind chief executive Jens Rasmussen.
Gert Vinther Jorgensen, chief financial officer at Norlys, welcomed finalisation of the deal.
“We see the pooling of activities in the area as a great strength and an opportunity to reap further synergies and economies of scale,” he said.
“At the same time, we have been very pleased with the process together with PFA and Eurowind Energy, and we conclude that with the agreement we strengthen the overall portfolio and profitability of Eurowind Energy.”
