Canadian outfit Solar Provider Group has set up a team to enter the Brazilian photovoltaic market with the goal to complete investments totalling $250m over the next five years.
Solar Provider Group said it believes that the Brazilian market has the right set of opportunities that fit perfectly into its global strategy.
The company is looking for local development partners in Brazil, as well as corporate buyers of electricity.
In particular, it is looking for Brazilian solar companies with skills in permitting and development on a local level.
Solar Provider Group has the experience in forming partnerships and executing at scale, it said.
The Solar Provider Group team in Brazil is led by Cesar Frota.
Frota said: “I am excited at the opportunity the Brazilian market represents, for both Solar Provider Group, and the global solar industry.
