Dutch-German transmission system operator TenneT is seeking a company to certify the basic design for 2GW HVDC offshore substations.
TenneT said it has committed to a FEED study to develop a standardised basic design for its future 2GW HVDC offshore stations.
The platforms will be of a typical topside and jacket design, and will be located in the Dutch sector of the North sea.
TenneT said that the platform will be designed in accordance with Dutch Law and design codes typically applicable in the Netherlands.
The certification of the basic design shall be carried out in accordance with DNVGL ST0145 and DNVGL SE0073, the tender document said.
The contract will run from the 3 February next year until 1 May 2021, with an option for possible renewal in case the basic design has not been completed in time.
