Danish transmission system operator Energinet has hired GEOxyz to carry out unexploded ordnance surveys for the up to 1GW Thor offshore wind farm off Denmark.
The contract covers initial geophysical and geotechnical investigations prior to the procurement of the wind farm.

Work will start on a box survey in April next year comprising about 100 rectangular zones of 200 metres by 150 metres or 100 metres by 50 metres.
Surveys will include the geophysical magnetometer, side scan sonar and multi-beam echo-sounding probes.
GEOxyz will also perform offshore data processing, target interpretation and reporting as part of the deal.
Total value of the contract is €796,492.
