Orsted is introducing a new operating model for its offshore wind business to support its global expansion.
To support the execution of its project pipeline and future growth, the company said the new operating model “creates a scalable organisation” for international expansion, which combines “market proximity with global scale and efficiency”.
In 2019, the developer expanded into Taiwan and the US with the award of “significant projects”.
Orsted’s offshore business will be organised in four regions and the new organisation will be effective from 1 January 2020.
The four regions are the UK, headed by Duncan Clark, head of region, continental Europe, headed by Rasmus Errboe, North America, headed by Thomas Brostrom and Asia Pacific, headed by Matthias Bausenwein.
Each region will be responsible for market and project development as well as asset management. According to the developer, “construction and operation activities will be delivered by Orsted’s global engineering, procurement and construction and operations and maintenance teams, in close collaboration with each region”.
