Eon and Audi are constructing a 12MW solar rooftop installation at two adjacent logistics centres owned by the car manufacturer in Hungary.
Some 20,000 solar cells have already been installed on the 80,000 square-metre roof area at one of the buildings in Gyor.

Audi said the next phase will be to install a further 16,000 cells on the roof of the second building.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
In total, it will produce over 9.5 gigwatt-hours of electricity a year.
Audi said the rooftop PV installation will save about 6000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
