Testing of the W2Power multi-turbine floating offshore wind platform prototype has been completed at the Plocan test site at the Canary Islands in Spain.
Plocan said the 1:6 scale prototype was decommissioned on 17 October following deployment at the site in June.

The platform, which comprised two 100kW turbines, aimed to collect information on different parameters to allow further development and optimisation, it said.
Companies involved in the W2Power initiative are Spanish outfits EnerOcean, Ghenova and Ingeteam, as well as Tension Technology International from the UK.
