WPD Windmanager has taken over operational management of the 10MW Plouguin wind farm in the Brittany region of France for Wiwi Consult.
The project has been operational since 2004 and comprises five Enercon E-66 turbines.
A power purchase agreement has also been struck for the electricity generated by the project, having been backed by a fixed feed-in tariff for the first 15 years of its life.
Wiwi Consult partner Thomas Zenk said: “The PPA comes along with certain commitments. Therefore, we have been searching for an experienced and reliable operations manager, who is always able to fulfill the individual requirements – for example in the range of reaction times.
“With WPD Windmanager we have found such a partner, who is furthermore very well connected on the French market.”
WPD Windmanager managing director Nils Brummer said: “A PPA is one of the most interesting and future-oriented renumeration models for older wind farms – both nationally and internationally.”
