Vestas has received its first order in Germany for the company’s new EnVentus turbine platform from Notus Energy Plan.
The deal also will feature the first V150-5.6MW turbines deployed worldwide, Vestas said.
The contract is for two V150 machines with 166-metre hub heights, as well a 25-year service contract for the Beesenberg 2 wind farm in Brandenburg in the east of the country.
Delivery and commissioning are planned for the fourth quarter of 2020.
Vestas said the turbines will be integrated to the already installed Beesenberg and Lubbenow project, where the first German V150-4.2MW turbines, ordered in 2018, are currently under construction.
Notus Energy Plan chief executive Heiner Roger said: “As an experienced project developer and successful, long-term partner of Vestas, we trust the versatile and highly efficient energy solutions they provide.
“The EnVentus platform represents the next generation in the evolution of wind turbines and we are looking forward to developing the first EnVentus wind energy project in Germany.”
Vestas Northern & Central Europe president Nils de Baar said: “With this order we continue to build on our valued cooperation with Notus Energy Plan, as well as on our technology leadership.
“By deploying our first V150-5.6MW turbines, we ensure the lowest cost of energy, creating maximum value for our customer’s business case.”
