Innogy has selected Seacat Services to provide vessels to support the construction phase of its 860MW Triton Knoll project off Lincolnshire.
Seacat said it will dispatch two offshore energy support vessels to the project, which starts construction in Q1 next year.
The UK outfit will provide a 26-metre long catamaran and a 24-metre catamaran, which will both work from the project’s operations base at Grimsby fish docks until the end of 2021.
One vessel will join the project this winter to support construction preparation and the other will begin its charter in April 2020.
The vessels will work alongside an SOV to support the build out of the 90-turbine project and will be available 24 hours a day at the height of construction activity, Seacat said.
“During the time-sensitive offshore wind construction phase, the importance of a finely-honed approach to vessel management cannot be understated,” Seacat Services managing director Ian Baylis said.
“Having worked out of Grimsby previously, we’re looking forward to returning later this year and getting the project underway,” he added.
Triton Knoll is due online by 2022 and will feature 90 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines.
