Hamburg-based offshore service provider SeaRenergy has acquired Elbe-1, an engineering consultancy specialising in offshore wind project design, certification and approval.
Elbe-1 founder Hagen Heesch remains in place as the company’s managing director and will also contribute to the further growth and development of SeaRenergy group in the international offshore wind industry.
SeaRenergy, which provides engineering, marine services, QHSE and offshore professionals for installation, operations and maintenance of offshore windfarms, acquired Elbe-1 to broaden its offering across the lifecycle of offshore wind projects.
Elbe-1 supports clients globally in offshore wind farm planning.
Heesch said: “The umbrella of SeaRenergy will enable the Elbe-1 team to grow its business not only by relying on the additional resources and expertise of the new colleagues, but will also enable us to present a much stronger setup to our clients and to the overseas markets in the US, Japan, Taiwan and others.”
SeaRenergy managing director Benjamin Vordemfelde added: “Joining forces between SeaRenergy and Elbe-1 generates a company with an excellent service portfolio which comprises the complete lifecycle of any offshore wind or platform project from early planning and permit process to installation, commissioning and operations and maintenance.
“In addition, it enables synergies with Con4Mare, a specialist in marine warranty surveys and part of the SeaRenergy group since 2013.”
