Enel Green Power has started construction of the almost 35MW Los Arcos wind farm in Spain.
The €35.5m project is located in Malaga, between the municipalities of Almargen, Teba and Campillos, and is expected to be fully operational in the last quarter of 2019.
It will comprise 10 turbines with individual capacity of about 3.5MW. No details were given regarding the supplier of the hardware.
Los Arcos will generate 100 gigawatt-hours of electricity a year once operational.
The wind farm is part of the 540MW of wind power awarded to the company’s Spanish subsidiary Endesa in the renewable energy auctions organised by the Spanish government in May 2017.
Endesa chief executive Jose Bogas said: “Endesa’s renewable investments are boosting the energy transition in Spain.
“By year end, over 900MW of new renewable plants are expected to be fully up and running across the country, following Endesa’s awarding in 2017 auctions, testament to the company’s strong commitment to our common objectives on renewables, as shared with the government.”
