Orsted has selected UK outfit Tekmar Energy to provide cable protection systems for the 1386MW Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm off the east coast of England.
Tekmar will provide its TekLink Generation 8 Mechanical Latch system for the project.
This will comprise 346 cable protection systems and a further 30 bellmouths, for both the array and export cables.
The systems will be manufactured at the company’s facility in the north-east of England.
Tekmar Energy managing director Russell Edmondson said: “We are delighted for Tekmar to be selected as the cable protection system and bellmouth supplier for Hornsea 2.
“This is one of the most significant projects in the industry to date.
“This continues Tekmar’s excellent relationship with Orsted and is part of our six-year framework for providing cable protection systems on their future projects.”
