Tekmar Energy has been chosen by installation contractor Jan De Nul Group to provide cable protection systems for the over 109MW Changhua offshore wind farm off the coast of Taiwan.
Under the terms of the deal, Tekmar will provide its TekLink Generation 8 technology for the project’s array and export cables, as well as the bellmouth for the foundations and the hang-off systems.
Changhua is being developed by Taiwan Power Company and executed by a consortium of Jan De Nul and Hitachi.
It will have a total capacity of 109.2MW and consist of 21 turbines installed on jacket foundations.
Jan De Nul cable supply and installation manager Mathieu Wittouck said: “We were impressed with Tekmar’s technical capability during our evaluation and the commitment they are making to support the development within this region, we look forward to working with them once again and delivering a safe and successful cable installation.”
Tekmar Energy director Jack Simpson said: “We are delighted for Tekmar to be selected as the cable protection system supplier for Changua offshore wind farm in Taiwan.

Tekmar is also providing cable protection systems for the phase one and two of the Formosa offshore wind farm in Taiwan, of which phase two is also being executed by Jan De Nul.
