Prysmian has been awarded a contract by Vattenfall to provide the submarine inter-array cable systems for the 760MW Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) 3&4 offshore wind farm off the Netherlands.
The award follows Vattenfall’s successful bid for the permit to develop the non-subsidised project.
Prysmian will produce the order at its Nordenham factory in Germany with delivery due by 2022.
Vattenfall is installing 152 Siemens Gamesa 10MW turbines across the 750MW HKZ 1&2 and 3&4 offshore wind complex.
The projects will be the first to feature the latest Siemens Gamesa machine, which will have a 193-metre rotor diameter.
HKZ 3&4 increases Prysmian’s portfolio of 66kV inter-array cable systems for offshore wind projects in European waters.
The company is also supplying Borssele 3&4, Hornsea 2 and Provence Grand Large.
Prysmian will design, test and supply 172km of 66kV insulated wires, as well as the related accessories.
