Nordex Group has received a 200MW turbine order from an unnamed international project developer in the US for a wind farm starting construction in Texas in spring 2020.
The order is for 63 AW125/3150 turbines with a combined rated output of 198MW.
The turbines, with a hub height of 87.5 metres, are being installed on steel towers.
The order uses some equipment from a “safe harbour” transaction dating back to 2016.
Nordex received advance payment for these components and produced them in the same year.
Through the 5% Safe Harbour qualification, the equipment purchased in 2016 can qualify wind farm projects for the 100% Production Tax Credit if placed in service by the end of 2020.
Earlier this month the company signed an agreement with an unnamed utility for the supply and delivery of turbines for a 350MW wind project in Oklahoma, US.
The German company will supply 74 of its N149/4.0-4.5 model, making it the first deal in the US market for the Delta4000 platform.
Nordex has installed more than 25GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets and in 2018 generated revenues of around €2.5bn.
