WPD France has hired Doris Engineering to carry out studies to advance the development of floating offshore wind off the coast of the European country.
Doris said it will provide strategic expertise in aero-hydrodynamic, mooring, cables, geotechnical and structural issues.

The findings will provide WPD France with insights in terms of technologies, construction and operations and maintenance strategies for projects, it said.
WPD is developing the 498MW Fecamp and 450MW Courseulles-sur-Mer offshore wind farms in France as part of the Eolien Maritime France consortium, which also includes EDF and Canadian company Enbridge.
