The global outlook for both offshore and onshore wind is increasing positive, according to the latest WindEnergy trend:index (WEtix).
It found that offshore sentiment in Asia, North America and Europe is strong, as well as the rest of the world, although the mood in Germany has stabilised compared with the previous year.
Onshore expectations are also high across the globe, apart from in Germany, the survey said.
Respondents believe there are still many technological opportunities to be explored to reduce costs, particularly through digitalisation.
WEtix polled over 1200 representatives from the global wind industry for the survey. It is produced jointly between Wind:research and WindEnergy Hamburg, which is organised by Hamburg Messe und Congress.
Hamburg Messe und Congress chief executive Bernd Aufderheide said: “The WEtix survey provides all wind energy experts with an excellent opportunity to share their assessments of the industry’s current and future situation.
“We are pleased that this opportunity has been receiving such a great response.
“It provides a means to capture the mood in the context of international perspectives in a manner that is normally possible only at the world’s leading wind industry expo itself.
“Positive messages reflecting a global view, such as this one, are of exceptional importance for the market at this time.”
