Siemens Gamesa has awarded a contract to Green Wind to organise and supervise electrical switching operations for the 16 turbines and transformer platform at EnBW’s 112MW Albatros wind farm in the German North Sea.
Berlin-based Green Wind said the project’s entire network structure has also been mapped with its software in the form of a so-called digital twin.
Albatros and its 497MW sister project Hohe See feature a combined 87 SWT-7.0-154 turbines, for which an installation campaign kicked off last month.
Construction is due for completion by the end of the year.
Green Wind said Albatros is the second major offshore contract won by the company after it was selected to carry out maintenance management for the DolWin3 grid hub, also in the German North Sea.
