EnBW said its 609MW Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind complex in the German North Sea was on track for completion before the end of the year.
The German utility’s chief executive Frank Mastiaux offered the update in speech notes for the company’s annual general meeting, being held today in Karlsruhe.
Fred Olsen Windcarrier jack-ups Brave Tern and Blue Tern started installing the project’s 87 7MW Siemens Gamesa turbines last month.
Mastiaux also said that EnBW had a further 800MW of solar PV projects in the pipeline, including a 175MW development in Brandenburg state being delivered without subsidies.
“Expansion of renewables is a strategic priority for EnBW,” Mastiaux said.
The company also recently acquired French wind and solar group Valeco and has been snapping up onshore wind farms in countries such as Sweden.
