Van Oord has kicked off a cable-laying campaign at Northland Power’s 269MW Deutsche Bucht wind farm in the German North Sea.
The Dutch contractor’s vessel Nexus (pictured) last week arrived at the project site after loading up on 33kv medium-voltage cables supplied by Prysmian unit Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke at the Dutch port of Nordenham.

Around 52 kilometres of array cables will be installed at the project site around 95 kilometres North-West of the island of Borkum.
Jack-up Aeolus is slated to start installing 33 MHI Vestas 8.4MW turbines this summer in time to bring the project on line by the end of the year.
