German manufacturer Enercon is to rebrand all Lagerwey wind turbines under the Enercon moniker as it readies to boost its hardware offering to 5MW.
The Lagerwey L147 and L160 turbine models will now be marketed as E-147 and E-160 and will be available in 5MW and 4.6MW variants, respectively, under the EP5.
Enercon sales director Stefan Lütkemeyer said: “This move is a way for us to accommodate the fast-paced developments in our relevant wind energy markets.
“Our customers are calling for more powerful and more efficient wind turbines. By positioning the E-147 and the E-160 higher, we are offering them other attractive options in a tough competitive environment for their onshore wind projects around the world.”
Dutch company Lagerwey was acquired by Enercon at the start of 2018.
