Specialist recruiter Atlas Professionals has extended its permanent and executive search services to the offshore renewables sector in the Asia-Pacific region.
The move has been prompted by the fast growth of the offshore wind industry in the region in China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, while new markets are expected to spring up in India, Thailand, Australia and Vietnam, Atlas said.
“This growth poses a serious manpower challenge for companies involved in this region, simply because (offshore wind) is growing so quickly,” the company added.
It said that the Atlas’s Singapore offshore has been tasked with responding to the demand.
Atlas strategic director renewables APAC Edgare Kerkwijk said: “With the offshore wind industry in Asia-Pacific to rise 20-fold to 45GW in 2027, the provision of skilled and qualified personnel will become one of the key success factors for the industry to achieve this growth.
“As the European offshore wind sector is still continuing to grow, we need to develop our own executive expertise in Asia-Pacific and therefore recruiting and training senior-level people here.”
